mist
Modern Description

written by Susanne M Hoffmann

Mist can have various causes. Wet mist is caused by a lot of tiny water drops in the air while dry mist is caused by a huge amount of grains of dust (or sand) in the air. In both cases, the particles (of water or dust) are not chemically bound with the air molecules but only isotropically mixed with them.
