Modern Description
written by Susanne M Hoffmann
after long periods without rain, the earth at the surface gets dry. It cannot feed the plants anymore and the surface breaks. Due to the lack of water, plants will dry and can even die if not watered artifically. Therefore, long lasting drought can cause periods of hunger.
